I had a great conversation this week with a client. She asked for a wet to dry roller set. I got out my rollers, and began to roll her hair. As our conversation developed she told me about some of the people she has seen for her hair. She mentioned Vidal Sassoon and right after that she mentioned Alexander, and then she mentioned Carita. I enjoy knowing my hair history, I think it is important. This was a one on one conversation with a women who had some of the great trendsetters of their time work on her hair. I did other blowout roller sets that day, this one was special because it reminded me of who I work for. Thank you Oribe.

Next time your at the salon ask for a red roller set. It is an Oribe standard!

VIctoria Beckham at Macy's Herald Square

Victoria Beckham dropped by New York City on Wednesday (May 6) to raise the curtain on a 20 foot image of the new ad for Emporio Armani underwear on the famed main floor of Macy's Herald Square.

David Gonzalez Oribe Colorist

David Gonzalez has worked for Oribe for 14 years as a colorist. David is off to San Francisco for a continuing education class hosted by the color line Logics. Oribe salon uses other color lines beside Logics but David found it important to keep on top of current trends in hair color so he is off to San Francisco for an all expense paid trip. The Miami Beach salon is eager to see and hear how he was inspired by the city on the bay.

A Blowout, Press and Curl

I just finished a clients hair using the Oribe Shampoo and Conditioner for Brilliance and Shine and the Supershine Moisturizing Cream. Ashley has fine curly hair and plenty of it. The products have just the right amount of sheen to give her hair a smooth, well conditioned look. The client left the salon looking great. Thank you Oribe for giving me the products to turn out my best hair.

At work with Oribe

Oribe has been in his Miami Beach salon for the last few days busy with his clients. In between clients he talked to me about a few special projects he would like me to start on. Talking about inspirations and brain storming with him is amazing. I will keep you posted as the projects are revealed.

SOBeFiT Magazine

Marta Montenegro-Auvert, the Publisher/Editor In-Cheif for SOBeFiT Magazine came to the salon yesterday for highlights with David Gonzalez and a haircut with me. She left the salon happy and very excited to have found a place in Miami to get her hair done (she had been flying to Los Angeles for her hair appointments). Oribe's cutting class

Natasha, a stylist at Oribe's salon, wanted an 80's updated style to her hair. She had been growing her hair out and had a shoulder length bob. Oribe razored her hair and made it so chic and current. While Natasha got her new look we also got a razor technique class from Oribe.

Oribe's Miami Beach salon

This is the art work that Alvaro did for Oribe's current salon. It hangs in the shampoo room so look for it as you get your hair shampooed. Each woman is inspired by someone that Oribe has worked with. Ask me when you come in who is who.

Oribe's Miami Beach salon history

This image is from Oribe's first salon located on Miami Beach. He opened this salon in 1995 and was located on the corner of 9th and Collins in the heart of South Beach. The salon was done in a mermaid theme. When you walked into the salon you walked into an undersea world. The floor was blue, the front desk as a fish tank and the salon had original works of art by the artist Alvaro. This is one example of the works that hung in the original Coral House salon. David Gonzalez, Marlene Fonticiella, and Kevin Apple are original employees from the coral house that still work for Oribe in his salon.
